Job Title: Technology Specialist

Reports to: Executive Director

FLSA Status:  Exempt

Qualifications:

-       Degree in computer science or a related field is preferable.

-       Professional certification (e.g. CCNS, CISSP, MCSE).

-       Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.

-       Good communication ability, both written and verbal.

-       Personable, professional demeanor.

-       Working knowledge of relevant operating systems, software and programming.

-       Keen attention to detail.

-       Good organization, time management and prioritization.

-       Efficient troubleshooting abilities

Responsibilities:

-       Belief in the mission and vision of the school and a commitment to support East Wake Academy in reaching and maintaining our mission and vision.

-       Assists with identifying, acquiring, and maintaining hardware, software, and network products.

-       Assists in the implementation of the system and building-level technology plans.

-       Collaborates with teachers and other instructional staff to develop curriculum materials and specific lesson plans that integrate technology

-       Models the integration of technology in all curriculum areas

-       Facilitates school participation in technology programs and activities

-       Conducts staff development in the areas of technology integration, the North Carolina Computer/Technology Skills Curriculum, and the North Carolina Technology Competencies for Educators

-       Implements best practices related to technology use in the school program based on research, pilot programs, and state/national standards

-       Works with the principal and school leadership team to provide access to technology resources and services of the technology facilitator at point of need

-       Works with teachers in the selection of resources that are compatible with the school technology infrastructure

-       Assists with planning the design of the technology infrastructure so that information resources are continually available to the school community

-       Adheres to and communicates copyright as well as other laws and guidelines pertaining to the distribution and ethical use of all resources

-       Serves as the school contact for addressing hardware and software issues

-       Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications Knowledge of technologies available for use in instructional setting

-       Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation

-       Assist in the development of policies and procedures regarding technology issues.

-       Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy in the area of instructional technology.
