K/S/A:

- Knowledge of applicable team or individual sports and rules

- Demonstrated coaching skills in area of sporting specialty.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with       student-athletes.

- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

- Knowledge of strengthening and conditioning methods and techniques.

- Previous High School or College playing or coaching strongly preferred.

 

Responsibilities:

- Assists with preparing, and conducting individual and team practices, training, and competition.

- Receives guidance and instruction from more senior coaches in general and specific coaching procedures, methods, and techniques.

- Assists as directed with the oversight of athletic training, strength, and conditioning workouts; provides technical support and training to athletes, as appropriate to the sport.

- Facilitates information on events and practices changes to parents using school software. • Assists as appropriate in planning and arranging team travel.

 

Conditions of Employment:

- Compliance with NCHSAA rules and regulations and all other rules outlined in the school code of conduct.

- Potential coaches must complete any coaching education courses required to become eligible in their specific sport

- Must be able to obtain CPR Certification (EWA funded)

- Must be trained on EWA Emergency Action Plan Procedures

- Driver’s License
